Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities
Conceived in Los Angeles twenty-two years ago, RBI is currently in over 200 cities worldwide.
Since the inception in 1989, more than 180 RBI participants have been selected in the Major League Baseball draft.
Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities is a youth outreach program of Major League Baseball designed to:
- Increase participation and interest in baseball and softball among underserved youth
- Encourage academic participation and achievement
- Increase number of talented athletes prepared to play beyond high school (collegiate and professional levels)
- Promote greater inclusion of minorities into the mainstream of the game
- Teach the value of teamwork
