Currently, there are about 253 NCAA Division 2 baseball colleges. Each team has a maximum of nine scholarships. Known as the NCAA Division II Baseball Tournament, this annual 48-team tournament comprises a field of eight six-team double-elimination regionals. The first championship was played in 1968 in Springfield, Missouri. Since 2009, the National Finals have been held in Cary, North Carolina.
